Way, to, go! The day after my one week celebration and I go and break the chain! Lovely… I won’t be making excuses for it, nope. Sure, I had friends over, but that was only for the evening. I still had all of the rest of the day! Alright, just to be fair: I have been writing yesterday. I was going to share a few short stories I’d written before and had a whole introduction in my head, ready to be written down. Yet, when the evening started, little more than an inconsistent mess with unfinished sentences and paragraphs probably leading up to something had come out. I suppose there are always going to be these days when you run into a bit of a roadblock and things just won’t go as well as planned. Yesterday was probably one of them. Still, some discipline will be in order if I’m going prevent them and make some progress with my writing.
Maybe it sounds like I´m being overly dramatic or too harsh on myself, but sometimes a single day like yesterday may go snowballing into more like that. It’s something I’ve already seen with my plans to exercise more: something I planned to do nearly every day, but which has now been at least weeks ago since I’ve last done it. I haven’t stopped doing it and will be picking things up again sooner than later anyway, but if I want it to have any positive effect, I really should prevent not doing it from becoming a habit. That’s also how I look at my writing. One day may seem like a little, and at the moment is, but it can get out of hand fast if I don’t watch out.
For now, though, not much has been lost. All that happened yesterday was a little trip, so all I have to do now is just get back up, catch up and continue going like I’ve done for the past week. And with the new year around the corner, I suppose there are absolutely worse resolutions to work on. So, I’m going to repeat what I’ve said back in my first post: let’s do it! For real this time! ^_^;
Have a great turn of the year, everyone! See you in 2014! ^_^
(And just a little note to myself: start writing earlier, just in case of (semi)-unexpected visits!)
