The Ghosts of Writing Past Part 7. Tales From The Jedi Temple, Ambush On Aargau

Ah, back to Aargau, the place where it all started… If recall this correctly, Ambush on Aargau was the first roleplay session held at the Earth Jedi Order, and the one where most of our fictional alter egos first appeared. For this one and the upcoming Ghosts I’m once again going to give a link to the main page of Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki, and for each individual Star Wars name/concept/etc. link to its respective page, so that those not fluent in Star Wars lore can also follow things more easily.

Ambush on Aargau was started by Ithil Asea (I will be using everyone’s Jedi names here), at the time my Jedi Master and one of the first three Masters of the Order, and Jordan, the founder and Grand Master of the EJO. Several others joined in over time, including Nillanthir Zerati – who joined around the same time as myself, would become one of my best friends and with whom I would continue writing stories -, Des-mi Wocan – one of first three Masters of the Order -, Jorgo Kenobi – another member who also joined around the same time as I did – and myself, Vhiran Ashukahwa. Nillanthir would later take the posts and edit them into a story.

The story takes part during the early months of the Clone Wars. The Republic and Jedi send a strike force to the Separatist occupied planet Aargau. Their mission is to capture Aargau and Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray. They will also be facing Sora Bulq, a Jedi who has fallen to the Dark Side and joined the Separatists against the Republic. Most of the Jedi are already on the planet, while Vhiran and Jorgo arrive later, the first with a ship carrying reinforcements, the latter in his starfighter. Early in the story it is revealed that the Separatists already knew the Republic was coming. To make matters worse General Grievous is also present. The focus switches between various points of view during the battle as most of the characters are spread out across the battlefield for their missions. During the story’s climax the focus is mostly on two big lightsaber battles: the first between several Jedi and Grievous and the second pitting Vhiran and Nillanthir against Sora Bulq. In the end the planet is taken, but it is a bittersweet victory, with Gunray and Grievous having escaped and Sora having committed suicide after being defeated by Nillanthir.

Wow, reading through the old thread containing this RP session has really made me even more nostalgic for those good old days. Nillanthir had recently already expressed his hope for us to band together again and create wondrous stories once more. And I have to say: I am all up for that!  Join me next time for a recollection of the next RP by the members of the Earth Jedi Order. I, for one, am really enjoying it so far. ^_^

About

Ever since a group of shoes held a birthday party a long, long time ago (though in a galaxy not that far away) a little boy’s appreciation for creation was born. And so, throughout the following years shoes partied, a dinosaur travelled through time, oddly shaped football players went on adventures, a young wanderer became a knight, a comedian rose to godhood, Jedi fought an evil empire, a war between cyborg warlords and human-insect hybrids engulfed the world… The boy had learned how with only words on paper (and from times to time a few pictures) he was able to bring people, places, even entire worlds to life. By now that little boy has reached almost the third decade of his life and his love for telling stories has not ceased. And finally, long after he had planned to, he has decided to share these stories with the world. Whether you are a new or already familiar face: welcome to this little archive of mine! This is a place where I will, finally, actually be sharing my writing with others. It will feature pretty much anything I feel like sharing, both old and new stories, fan-fiction and original content, and probably some non-fiction added in at times. So, if you like reading, writing, stories (or me ^_~), drop by, drop a comment (I can’t promise I’ll get back to you quickly, since I’m horrible at that, but I’ll do my best) and, drop it like it’s hot. … Sorry… ^_^; In any case, I hope you’ll enjoy yourself and I look forward to seeing you around!

Who? Just your average descendant of two sea-faring peoples, recently graduated anthropology Master and aspiring author with a life-long passion for writing.

What? Uhm, human. I think... Also a bit crazy, but in a good way. I think...

Where? A land under the sea, far, far away. Occasionally with my head in the clouds.

Why? Trying to get both my work and my love for writing out there, sharing them with others and getting in touch with fellow writers, artists and other like-minded people.

Hi! ^_^
