Daily Writing Part 34. Story of Poems 11

Random words of the day: Spaghetti. Voting.

I, don’t know what to say. Yesterday was the first time I got a random word I had already used before and today one of the words is the same as one I got yesterday! Yeah, it’s random. I know. I just thought it was a funny coincidence (or maybe it was meant to be! ^_~). At first I planned on getting another word to replace it, but eventually I chose against it and instead took a bit of inspiration from yesterday’s silly haiku. And so The Artist’s Tale continues!

The Artist’s Tale
Once upon a pitch-black night
A peaceful sleep was broken
To a grim bloodcurdling sound
The artist was awoken

Wide open then the windows flung
A seagull soared inside
Its eyes like X-rays piercing deep
Its wings three meters wide

Upon the surface of the desk
It sat and turned its head
Then from its beak a credit card
It hurled upon the bed

“Come on! Get up!” the seagull called
“Go pack your toothbrush! Fast!
And don’t forget your sunglasses!
Or you will never last!”

And while the wakened artist rose
Still baffled and befuddled
Together in the city pub
A band of scorpions huddled

Just resting after travels long
From lands beyond the Fog
They killed some time by playing dice
And drink some jugs of grog

As they prepared to place their bets
And buy some honeyed mead
The horrid sound now reached them too
‘T was time now to proceed

Dragging bags with laundry filled
They rushed into the night
For as their sacred book foretold
They’d vowed to set things right

And lost within some music, soft
A sentry just on break
Looked up into the sky, amazed
And wondered when he’d wake

While he leaned back against the wall
The scorpions raced past
They grabbed all of his mulberries
Then vanished, lightning fast

Without a word or second doubt
The sentry then gave chase
To regain his priceless fruit
He stormed out of the base

As he ran he did regret
Eating so much spaghetti
But voting berries over health
He dashed with his machete

Ever since a group of shoes held a birthday party a long, long time ago (though in a galaxy not that far away) a little boy’s appreciation for creation was born. And so, throughout the following years shoes partied, a dinosaur travelled through time, oddly shaped football players went on adventures, a young wanderer became a knight, a comedian rose to godhood, Jedi fought an evil empire, a war between cyborg warlords and human-insect hybrids engulfed the world… The boy had learned how with only words on paper (and from times to time a few pictures) he was able to bring people, places, even entire worlds to life. By now that little boy has reached almost the third decade of his life and his love for telling stories has not ceased. And finally, long after he had planned to, he has decided to share these stories with the world. Whether you are a new or already familiar face: welcome to this little archive of mine! This is a place where I will, finally, actually be sharing my writing with others. It will feature pretty much anything I feel like sharing, both old and new stories, fan-fiction and original content, and probably some non-fiction added in at times. So, if you like reading, writing, stories (or me ^_~), drop by, drop a comment (I can’t promise I’ll get back to you quickly, since I’m horrible at that, but I’ll do my best) and, drop it like it’s hot. … Sorry… ^_^; In any case, I hope you’ll enjoy yourself and I look forward to seeing you around!

Who? Just your average descendant of two sea-faring peoples, recently graduated anthropology Master and aspiring author with a life-long passion for writing.

What? Uhm, human. I think... Also a bit crazy, but in a good way. I think...

Where? A land under the sea, far, far away. Occasionally with my head in the clouds.

Why? Trying to get both my work and my love for writing out there, sharing them with others and getting in touch with fellow writers, artists and other like-minded people.

Hi! ^_^
