I had not expected getting started would be so, frustrating. It wasn’t even in a “it’s annoying now but all the effort will be worth it when I’m done” kind of frustrating. I began a limerick for today’s Daily Writing post with high hopes. The random words seemed disconnected and hard to work with, but that wasn’t something I hadn’t faced before. Today it seemed a whole lot harder, though. Plenty of ideas presented themselves, but moments later they didn’t seem to work and were scrapped again. Frustration mounted with every digital lump of paper I threw over my shoulder and I was about to throw my hands up and give up for today. I was just not enjoying myself. At all.
Just as I was ready to quit, though, a small lightbulb popped up. I threw out the random words and turned to my old friend haiku, channeling my frustrations right through it. Being unable to write is a topic I’ve been hoping to avoid after writing on it constantly a while ago, but I suppose addressing every now and again won’t hurt. ^_^
