I’m doing it! I’m actually doing it! Yes, today I’m finally starting to share the stories I’ve been meaning to share for a long time. Which stories am I talking about? Those set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, of course! That’s right, as of today we will be delving into the stories in the Star Wars universe I’ve written, in some cases along with friends.
As I’ve said a few days ago sharing these was among the main reasons for starting this blog. It is therefore very exciting to me to proudly present them here at the Ashukahwa Archives! If you’ve followed The Ghosts of Writing Past, my series on the history and highlights of my writing life, you’ll know I’ve dedicated quite some time to them already and that there are a lot of these stories. Today we will begin with the story that pretty much kickstarted my Star Wars writing journey.
Order 66. Another Side, Another Story started out during my time on an Jedi community called the Earth Jedi Order. One of the activities on the forum was online forum roleplay games, mainly set in the Star Wars universe. Set at the very end of the Clone Wars and the fall of the Galactic Republic, it tells the story of a handful of Jedi seeking to escape the onslaught of the Galactic Empire that is seeking to annihilate them all. Order 66, while not the first of these games was certainly the biggest in terms of length and players involved and the one that spawned the larger storyline I began with my friend Jareth. Eventually I compiled and edited Order 66‘s individual forum posts into a coherent story, cutting/pasting and editing points to make things more flowing and coherent, but leaving the players’ original writing as much intact as possible. The result of this process finally begins today!
Shortly after this post I will be posting the story’s main page, containing an introductory ‘opening crawl’, a dramatis personae overview and the table of contents, which will be updated as the story moves along. And once that is posted the story nearly ten years waiting in the archives of my computer will finally come online! Each story entrance will link back to here, the story main page and the previous and next entrances. Unlike most of my posts here, though, they will not have any introductions by me, but dive right into the story itself. Are you ready, everyone? This is where the fun begins!
