Chapter 3. For Their Sake
Part 1. Beyond the Pain
Jordan’s ship blasted away from the city planet. “I must warn the others.” Then he saw it; a Republic command ship. “Oh, blast it!” Quickly he tried to launch into hyperspace, but a huge shot knocked Jordan out of his seat. “Great… A tractor beam… I’m surprised they’re not shooting,” he mumbled to himself and sat upright while the ship was slowly pulled into the hangar where hundreds of clones waited.
Jordan walked over to the hatch of the ship and ignited his lightsaber. Through the Force he then spoke to his Jedi comrades “Don’t come for me.” The hatch dropped open. Lunging out with his lightsaber and deflecting laser fire that suddenly was everywhere, he managed to down many of the clone troopers. But his opponents were many and Jordan was overwhelmed. He took a shot to the leg, then a trooper smashed him in the head with his gun. Then a sharp kick to his ribs as he dropped to the ground. Still conscious, but unable to move his body, he was dragged off by the soldiers.
Nillanthir could feel the pain Jordan was going through, but he had to stand strong for Vhiran’s sake. “Churro, I need a favour to ask of you. Take Amakusa and get out of here. There is a hidden corridor near my quarters that leads to my hidden starfighter, go there and wait for me. I will need to speak to Vhiran alone.” Churro simply nodded as he walked towards Amakusa and the two ran in the direction of Nillanthir’s quarters. Nillanthir turned and faced Vhiran. “I forgive you for attacking me and for falling. Grief is a difficult thing, especially when it is someone you love being hurt. But I must tell you before it is too late,” he said. “You may not be able to sense it, but Bultar is still alive. She is on a paper thin margin. We must help her now. And another thing… She once said to me that she developed feelings for you. She came to me because she did not understand these feelings she had for you. I told her what it was and she was afraid. Let me heal her now while we have time!” He looked at Vhiran’s eyes and saw they were filled with happiness and hope. That’s the way he should be, happy…, Nillanthir thought. I hope I can save her before it is too late…
Alive?! Vhiran thought. He gasped in amazement at Nillanthir’s words. And she had, felt the same for me all this time?! How could this be possible?! But, if Nillanthir says it… A feeling of warmth rapidly seemed to pour over his body. No time to waste! He made a quick clear nod and as quickly as he could Vhiran limped over to Bultar. This time he finally smiled sincerely again upon seeing her face.
