Gettin’ Rid of the E! – Stepping Up To The Challenge

Something happened yesterday… Someone, issued me a challenge! Yes indeed! The one! The only! The amazing Penny nominated me to continue a fun but remarkably tough challenge: write a paragraph without using the letter “e”. I was surprised, but glad to see my name among the nominees. I haven’t ever done anything like this before, so thank you for letting me be a part of this, Penny! ^_^

Now, the (copy-pasted) rules:

Write a whole paragraph ( a paragraph sounds easy right?) without any word containing the letter “e” (still easy for ya?)

  • By reading this you are already signed up.
  • Challenge at least five bloggers to do the challenge. They must do it within 24 hours or it is considered as failure.
  • If you fail or pass, suffer in the Hall of Noobs
  • If you win, wallow in the Hall of We
  • You will receive a pingback to your post to know if you have passed or failed.

To make it easy for the above mentioned dude to keep track, link your post back to=>Redefining Random

Burning+Alphabet+Wallpaper+ESo, do you know how many words contain that blasted little vowel in the English language alone? Neither do I, but there are a lot of them, so this is not going to be easy… But I shall overcome! Let’s do this!

“How you doing today?”

“Not bad, not bad… Amazing, actually!”

“So what’s this about?”

“Right! You know that study I was working on?”

“That crazy study without anything substantial going for it and which nobody thinks will amount to anything?”

“Uh-huh!” I said, oblivious to his obvious sarcasm. “I was working on it again and I ran into a truly fascinating… Uhm, how do you call it again… A…”

“Yup! A thing! A truly fascinating thing!”

“… What is it?”

“Okay, all I had to do was taking away just this part and… Bam! It turns a fox thought up by a bug aficionado from Japan into an anarchist from a story by a British author of comics. How brilliant is that?!”

“Alright… That’s… I… You, carry on your good work now…” And following a short gust of wind I was on my own again in my room.

And in high spirits and with a big grin I got back to saving our world!

And there you have it. A conversation using the theme of the challenge with two (not incredibly) subtle pop culture references fit in, between two, scientists? Wizards? Artists? What are they? … Oh well… There wasn’t a single “e” in there! This certainly deserves to be called a challenge. Definitely a fun one, though!

heres+a+new+challengerTime to nominate the next contestants to continue on our quest to eradicate the E. And I have chosen:
1. Grady

2. Dave

3. Kirsten

4. Ryan

5. Robert

Aaand, go! ^_^

Ever since a group of shoes held a birthday party a long, long time ago (though in a galaxy not that far away) a little boy’s appreciation for creation was born. And so, throughout the following years shoes partied, a dinosaur travelled through time, oddly shaped football players went on adventures, a young wanderer became a knight, a comedian rose to godhood, Jedi fought an evil empire, a war between cyborg warlords and human-insect hybrids engulfed the world… The boy had learned how with only words on paper (and from times to time a few pictures) he was able to bring people, places, even entire worlds to life. By now that little boy has reached almost the third decade of his life and his love for telling stories has not ceased. And finally, long after he had planned to, he has decided to share these stories with the world. Whether you are a new or already familiar face: welcome to this little archive of mine! This is a place where I will, finally, actually be sharing my writing with others. It will feature pretty much anything I feel like sharing, both old and new stories, fan-fiction and original content, and probably some non-fiction added in at times. So, if you like reading, writing, stories (or me ^_~), drop by, drop a comment (I can’t promise I’ll get back to you quickly, since I’m horrible at that, but I’ll do my best) and, drop it like it’s hot. … Sorry… ^_^; In any case, I hope you’ll enjoy yourself and I look forward to seeing you around!

Who? Just your average descendant of two sea-faring peoples, recently graduated anthropology Master and aspiring author with a life-long passion for writing.

What? Uhm, human. I think... Also a bit crazy, but in a good way. I think...

Where? A land under the sea, far, far away. Occasionally with my head in the clouds.

Why? Trying to get both my work and my love for writing out there, sharing them with others and getting in touch with fellow writers, artists and other like-minded people.

Hi! ^_^
