With the lands of the Realms fully sculpted it is finally time to move on to the next phase of Project Realm. Deciding on which direction to take from here was difficult, though. I thought of tackling the towns, cities and other inhabited locations of note, but that is something I think should be filed under the cultural part and that in turn requires a ton of preparation to even decide what to describe there. History was an other option that crossed my mind, but that too would be a rather extensive undertaking, requiring more detailed knowledge on the Realm’s various cultures first.
Eventually I decided to go for a broader perspective. The upcoming months Project Realm will be dedicated to mapping the physiological aspects of the various sentient and sapient peoples of the Realm in more detail. It will feature both the ‘main’ species as well as the different races some of them have. Special attention will also be given to hybrid species, those born from parents of different species. How much will be discussed each installment will depend on how long they’ll become, but I expect them to be somewhat shorter than the Sculpting the Realm posts. Also some peoples have been developed in more detail than others (Elves in particular have been given much attention already. Always liked Elves! ^_^), so I hope I can deliver a new piece expanding the Realm every week. Considering how the ‘sculpting’ went even if very little was known of the regions’ landscapes, climates and flora and fauna I think I’m going to be fine, though.
So please join me next week when we kick off the next phase of Project Realm! See you then!
