The Road to NaNoWriMo. Part 3. Characters

And so we come to the last installment of the Road to NaNoWriMo! Behind the scenes the story’s plot is being set up, the story’s world exists, the main groups that make up the world are a reality and now those groups will also be having faces representing them in the story. That’s right, the cast for Over the Edge is here at last! All of these characters were players in the original Inferno story and as the story, the world and groups have changed to fit the re-imagining , their ‘character profiles’ too had to be adapted (a couple of them quite considerably!). Some will of course be playing a bigger role than the others, but these are the characters who will be taking centre-stage during the coming month. The descriptions here will be fairly short, as the details that I’m leaving out will probably give away too much on the story, but I believe they should be able to give at least some idea on the characters the spotlights will be on.

Caldor Te’lesh. A young man, barely of age, living in the blockaded land. Having seen much horror in his relatively short life under Sechshares occupation, he is determined to do something about the situation of his land and people and is trying to decide whether or not to join the ‘main militia’ in the armed fight against Sechshares.

Commander Lecenko. The leader of the ‘main militia.’ Charismatic and idealistic, he can also be ruthless and allows no opposition in his attempts to achieve his goals of defeating Sechshares and freeing his people.

Akrin Melroc. An old man who has witnessed the initial Sechshares invasion firsthand and fought against it until reaching old age.

Representative Novac. Formerly a resistance fighter against Sechshares, now the head of the oppressed people’s official government. He is mostly a figurehead and puppet of Sechshares.

Lord Aras de Shares. The authoritarian ruler of Sechshares and head of the de Shares family that founded the state. A firm believer in Sechshares en Eisei superiority.

Mara de Shares. A relative to Lord Aras and a soldier in the Sechshares military. She is beginning have doubts about Sechshares’ actions after serving in the border area for a while.

Lady Kyana. The zealous head of the Eisei organization and a member of the family that founded the Eisei ideology and provided the Eisei’s leaders since its foundation.

Captain Shana Amraphel. An unquestioningly loyal veteran Eisei shock trooper serving in the border area.

And now, I will be continuing to get the outline of the story as ready as possible before tomorrow, when NaNoWriMo will actually begin! I’m pretty excited, if, I’ll admit, also a bit nervous. I have a good feeling about it, though. Tomorrow will mark the first day of a new era of writing, one in which I actually finish the work I start! And it. Shall. Be. Glorious! … *cough* Yes, it’s going to be a tough but fun time and I hope you’ll be there along the way! The next time I’ll be presenting the first of my (hopefully thirty) writing logs! So please…

Until then, everyone! Wish me luck! ^_^

About

Ever since a group of shoes held a birthday party a long, long time ago (though in a galaxy not that far away) a little boy’s appreciation for creation was born. And so, throughout the following years shoes partied, a dinosaur travelled through time, oddly shaped football players went on adventures, a young wanderer became a knight, a comedian rose to godhood, Jedi fought an evil empire, a war between cyborg warlords and human-insect hybrids engulfed the world… The boy had learned how with only words on paper (and from times to time a few pictures) he was able to bring people, places, even entire worlds to life. By now that little boy has reached almost the third decade of his life and his love for telling stories has not ceased. And finally, long after he had planned to, he has decided to share these stories with the world. Whether you are a new or already familiar face: welcome to this little archive of mine! This is a place where I will, finally, actually be sharing my writing with others. It will feature pretty much anything I feel like sharing, both old and new stories, fan-fiction and original content, and probably some non-fiction added in at times. So, if you like reading, writing, stories (or me ^_~), drop by, drop a comment (I can’t promise I’ll get back to you quickly, since I’m horrible at that, but I’ll do my best) and, drop it like it’s hot. … Sorry… ^_^; In any case, I hope you’ll enjoy yourself and I look forward to seeing you around!

Who? Just your average descendant of two sea-faring peoples, recently graduated anthropology Master and aspiring author with a life-long passion for writing.

What? Uhm, human. I think... Also a bit crazy, but in a good way. I think...

Where? A land under the sea, far, far away. Occasionally with my head in the clouds.

Why? Trying to get both my work and my love for writing out there, sharing them with others and getting in touch with fellow writers, artists and other like-minded people.

Hi! ^_^
