Chapter 5. Parting
Part 2. A Delicate Exchange
“Now, this is the plan, Bultar,” Nillanthir said. “I am going to take back the life force that was a part of me. This will break the connection, but weaken you greatly to the point of near death. When this is done Vhiran will focus his life force, along with my guidance, and place his life force within you. This will create the bond between you two. Do you understand?” Bultar hesitated but nodded in agreement. Nillanthir placed one hand on top of Bultar’s forehead, then he slightly blushed. “Forgive me for this…,” Nillanthir said as he placed his hand above her breast to where her heart was. He could feel the life force flowing through her. Nillanthir then began to call it back, he can feel Bultar start to weaken. The life force intensified, causing Nillanthir to shake. Bultar began to slip out of consciousness and Nillanthir then gave the nod for Vhiran. Vhiran then placed his hands on her shoulders and focused. “Feel the life force within you Vhiran,” Nillanthir said “Once you can feel it, project it to her when I say ‘now’…” Nillanthir felt himself becoming weakened. The life force he gave Bultar was almost gone. Nillanthir began to breathe heavily. this was draining his energy greatly. He felt his life force slip completely out of her. He could feel it coming. “NOW!!!” Nillanthir said then suddenly the full life force went into his being. The power of the reverse transfer suddenly pushed him back. He felt weightless. As if he was in a dream, he heard the scream of a little girl. Then he felt slight pain as he hit something rocky. He suspected it was the wall on the opposite side of the chamber. But he did not know for sure. He then saw black and felt his body become numb.
Here it goes! Vhiran thought and focused on what Nillanthir told him to do. Hang in there, Bultar! He concentrated on his life force and fiercely attempted to guide it to Bultar. Never had he performed this technique. In fact he had only recently heard of. Calm yourself. It won’t work this way. Quickly taking a deep breath, Vhiran calmed down. He could clearly feel the life force flow through his body now and managed to guide it to where he wanted. The moment it left his body and entered Bultar’s, Vhiran began trembling. What is this?! He clenched his jaws, not having counted on the strange feeling that suddenly threatened to overwhelm him. Don’t panic now! Concentrate! She’s counting on you! But no matter how much he focused on his task, he now started panting and feeling dizzy. Vhiran trembled even heavier as more of his life force left him.
