Chapter 5. Parting
Part 5. Portent
Once everyone was present again he then turned to the others. “Bultar, Shamila and I will be leaving for Nar Shaddaa first thing in the morning.” He looked at his young Padawan. Shamila looked slightly disappointed that they couldn’t stay somewhat longer, but she knew that it was necessary. Staying in large groups like this would only give them away sooner. She nodded softly and crawled closer against Nillanthir.
Nillanthir simply stroked her hair as he felt her come closer to him. He knew it would be hard for her to let go, but it had to be done. He looked to Bultar and Vhiran. He knew they would be happy together now. “I think the two of you will be happy now,” Nillanthir said. “I know you will look after Shamila well. Master Jordan is fine as well. He will decide his own fate now.” Nillanthir then looked down to the small form clinging to his arm. He smiled at how innocent she looked. A sudden flash of a premonition occurred in his mind. He then knelt down on one knee and held his head with his left hand. Blue blaster bolts, hundreds of clone troops, death, a single blue lightsaber in the middle of the dark, the planet Zaloriis appeared in his mind then the visions stopped. Nillanthir opened his eyes and looked up to everyone who suddenly surrounded him with worry.
He was panting hard. He had not completely healed yet. “You all… have to leave… now…,” Nillanthir said between breaths. “They are coming… I’ll hold them off… Get off-planet now while you all can!” He then felt the Force flow through him, giving him the strength to stand up quickly and get his lightsaber. How did they know where they were? They needed to leave now. Nillanthir would stand his ground and defend his home. “I do not want anyone else to help me. The survival of the Jedi rests on you all. Take care and may the Force be with you.” With that Nillanthir started to walk off when he felt a light weight suddenly tug him back. He looked behind him to see small eyes filling with tears.
