Chapter 6. Last Dance
Part 4. Near the Edge
Nillanthir hid in the shadows, watching the troops pass by, unaware of his presence. He heard the commotion outside the cave and he knew just what had happened. Now it was his turn to defend his home. These fiends shall never take my home, Nillanthir thought, then with a swift leap he activated his lightsaber and within seconds the nearby clone troopers fell by the dozen, unaware of what exactly happened. A battle took place. Multiple bolts of blue light passed by or were reflected by a single blue bolt that was wielded like a sword. Nillanthir’s blade passed through the clones and never faltered. Time to temporarily fall back, Nillanthir thought as he turned and ran straight for the main chamber of the cave. Here the two would face each other for the last time. Nillanthir then turned and placed himself ready for the biggest battle in his life so far… His true battle for survival. The clones lined up in a double line. The front row knelt on one knee and the second row aimed over them. Nillanthir then reached out with the Force and the cave then began to have boulders flying around as he focused on them to move towards the clones. The clones fell for the distraction, firing at the boulders as if they were living creatures. Nillanthir then used the boulders to seal the exit behind them. “If you want to escape, the exit is directly in front of you,” Nillanthir said to the now slightly terrified clones. “But there is one condition. You have to get past me… And I won’t allow you to call for reinforcements.” He then suddenly dashed forward and two clones now missed their heads. Nillanthir knew this wasn’t the best way, but this was now a battle for life and death. The Jedi Knight then felt the Force within him and used it to produce the godlike speed of the Hiten Mitsurugi, the legendary style he was known for in the Order. Within a few minutes nearly all but three clones remained. Nillanthir simply stood in front of the exit and the clones feared this being. “Well, shall we finish this?” Nillanthir said and was about to charge when the boulders started to crumble. Nillanthir and the clones turned. All they could see was the dust still in the air but Nillanthir knew who it was. Something moved quickly from the dust and then the three clones fell. Nillanthir was taken by surprise and recognised what the object was. A kodachi!
