Once again this tremendously strange idea that starting early with your writing is a really effective way of getting both more writing and other activities and responsibilities done during the day has somehow proven itself to be utterly and entirely true! Homework, household things and a remarkably big chunk of writing done?! Wow…
Both yesterday (a work day, of all things!) and today writing went quite well and as of now I’m only about half a day behind! I have grown so paranoid, however, that I refuse to actually celebrate until I’m all the way through and even my enthusiasm about progress I still express somewhat warily. Not exactly the biggest confidence booster, I know, but it that appears holding onto it gives me some peace of mind, so, whatever works, right?
I continue to jump from one part to the other when writing. It’s not so much returning to and revising entire parts (that’s a big no-no in NaNo… ^_~), but like I told in an earlier log, I sometimes get inspiration parts that take place at a later part in the story and so I write them down. This tends to continue during the following days and so the aforementioned jumping ensues and those ‘future’ parts, of course, also need to be connected to the rest of the story again. So, all in all, it’s a bit of a chaotic way to write, but it seems to work just fine.
Looks like those double logs are starting to become the standard now. The month is almost behind us, so I’m not going to decide on whether I want to go and standardize it, but I may look into it for next time. Not having to write a log every day does clear up some precious time that can be spent on the story itself and the progress is undeniable. We’ll see. For now I’ll try to put them out each day as long as I’m able and every other day if I’m not. There’s still about a week to go, so let’s focus on getting that story done! See you next time, everyone! ^_^
